UVU Alumni Center Programming
Curtis Miner Architecture was hired by Utah Valley University to provide programming services for the two-story, 20,000 SF University’s Alumni Center. Two existing homes would be demolished on the site to prepare for the new Center. Over a six-week period, the CMA team visited the site and interviewed key stakeholders—from the faculty who will use and occupy the spaces to the maintenance crew who will care for the facility. Through the interviews, the CMA team was able to develop a comprehensive understanding of which departments will be occupying which spaces, how many staff members they have, how departments work with others, the critical adjacencies and flow, and plan for future growth. CMA’s team of consultants were also included in the process to determine the structural, mechanical, and electrical needs of the facility. Based on what was discovered in their due diligence, CMA prepared a written document with space and code requirements, cost estimates, conceptual floor plans, and interior and exterior renderings to be considered by the University.
